Job Purpose

Job Description

  • Carrying out safety risk assessments prior to starting a new project.
  • Reviewing all work procedures and ensuring they meet industry safety standards.
  • Preparing and filing reports for accidents and other safety breaches.
  • Staying up to date with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensuring safe installation of equipment.
  • Conducting in-house training sessions on health and safety awareness.
  • Tracking incident metrics and applying findings.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives by working with production team.
  • Controls downtime by informing workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Develop and establish a culture of compliance and safety in the workplace by preparing and enforcing policies
  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and ensure compliance with the law
  • Participate in periodic self-audits conducted by the Corporate Compliance Department
  • Recommend solutions, improvement opportunities or preventive measures
  • Serve as a coach and mentor for less experienced staff.

     


Job Specification

Qualifications & Experience

  • As a minimum he shall have 5 years’ extensive experience in safety management, risk assessment operations management and quality control in the oil and gas industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Experience of working with an international E&C company.
  • In dept knowledge of safety regulations ensuring compliance with all relevant codes
  • Knowledge of relevant software package.
  • Strong communication skills and is able to establish relationship with key stakeholders
  • Effective negotiation skills for managing contracts, change orders, and cost-related issues with suppliers and contractors.
